How EquyFi works
A four-step path
Create your account
Sign up with email, accept the terms of service and complete the verification.
Complete your ECSP profile
Provide your personal and financial details, complete the Knowledge Test (art. 21 of Reg. EU 2020/1503) and receive your classification as a sophisticated or non-sophisticated investor.
Explore the opportunities
For each project you'll find the KIIS, legal documentation, risk level and projections. Everything you need to make an informed decision.
Express interest and invest
If you are a non-sophisticated investor, you have 4 days to revoke your expression of interest without penalty (art. 22 of Reg. EU 2020/1503).
Register and verify your identity
Registering on EquyFi takes just a few minutes. Enter your email address, choose a secure password and confirm your account. The process is fully digital and eIDAS-compliant.
At this stage we collect your basic personal data (name, date of birth, nationality) and verify that you are resident in the European Union or the European Economic Area, as required by ECSP regulation.
Complete your ECSP profile
Regulation (EU) 2020/1503 requires platform operators to collect detailed information about investors before they can make investments. This includes: fiscal data and tax residence, financial profile (income, net worth, sources of funds), prior investment experience.
All data collected is processed in compliance with GDPR and is used exclusively to fulfil ECSP regulatory obligations.
ECSP Knowledge Test
Before investing, every non-sophisticated investor must pass the Knowledge Test required by Article 21 of the ECSP Regulation. The test assesses understanding of the specific risks of crowdfunding investment.
If you do not pass the test at the first attempt, you may proceed after acknowledging the specific risks. The test covers 6 thematic areas: insolvency risk, illiquidity, expected return, diversification, KIIS and the cooling-off period.
Explore opportunities and invest
Once your profile is complete, you can access the investment opportunities available on the platform. Each project comes with a Key Investment Information Sheet (KIIS) prepared by the issuer and validated by the platform.
You have a 4-calendar-day cooling-off period from the date of a binding offer to withdraw your offer without penalty, as provided for in Article 22 of the ECSP Regulation.
